The idea to hold this awards evening came about after a series of visits to our schools and I was struck by the outstanding practice that existed and the quality of the experiences that our children were having on a daily basis.
Too often it is easy to just accept this as “the norm” – but when you work and support other schools outside The WHF family, it gives you a new perspective on what exceptional colleagues we have and how everyone goes the extra mile for the students in our care.
So we decided to celebrate all the amazing and hard working people that we are lucky enough to call colleagues and friends.
On Thursday 9th October The White Horse Federation Multi Academy Trust held their 4th Annual Arts Festival. This year we had themed performance and artwork to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of WW1 and we were very fortunate to be able to hold this event at Tidworth Garrison Theatre.
Children from Nursery age up to Year 6 prepared class entries, these ranged from 3D poppy displays, model tanks, life sized service personal to embroidered postcards to the front. These entries were displayed in the entrance of the Tidworth Garrison Theatre for public viewing.
Children from Year 2 – Year 6 travelled to Tidworth on Thursday 9th October to showcase their artistic talents in dance, song, recital, instrumental and during the afternoon they also took part in year group design challenges.
This event was a great opportunity for children from all our schools to meet each other and celebrate their fantastic achievements in the arts. Each child was awarded a medal for taking part and trophies were awarded to schools that present the best entries.
Schools that took part included: From Swindon – The Croft Primary School, Drove Primary School, Haydon Wick Primary School, Moredon Primary & Nursery School, Mountford Manor Primary School, Nyland Campus, Rodbourne Cheney Primary School & Tregoze Primary School. From Wiltshire: Zouch Academy, Tidworth.
