Captain Tom 100 Tusk Fundraiser: Goal Achieved

We’d like to give a huge thank you to all members of our amazing school community who donated to the sponsored run our year 3 pupils ran to raise money for the charity Trust.

Inspired by Captain Tom, our pupils aimed to run a total of 100 laps of the school field and raise £500 for the charity that supports animal conservation across Africa.

Amazingly, the children smashed their goal. Running a total of 535 laps, 215 miles as a year group! Following this success, we’ve raised a total of £616 on our just giving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/year-3s-captain-tom-100-challenge

We think it’s so important to teach our pupils the importance of giving and helping care for our planet and its inhabitants through charity. It was great to incorporate our English lessons in this, by getting each child to write a persuasive letter home to parents, asking them to sponsor them for the run.

We’d therefore like to thank all our parents for showing so much enthusiasm for the initiative.
