Wow… Year 2 have had such a busy term 3!
The children very much enjoyed our topic- Around the World in 6 Weeks. They explored Africa, America, Australia, China, India and United Kingdom.
In English, we learnt how to write interesting stories using expanded noun phases. We were so impressed with their creative flare! The children are developing their editing skills extremely well.
We also revisited our instructional writing skills. The children wrote outstanding instructions to make chocolate kisses!
In Maths, we have learnt how to use column addition to solve number problems. Miss Baker and Mrs Ramlall were super impressed with the children’s stickability! The children have also explored Money… learning how to add different value amounts together to get a total.
In Science, we have been learning all about habitats. The children went out into the local area to investigate habitats. They loved discovering which animals had certain habitats and reasons why.
Year 2 have been super busy learners! We have also learnt about:
- Chinese New Year
- Andy Warhol
- How to stay safe on the internet
- Researching famous people from various countries such as Steve Irwin.
- Making Indian dips
- Making bread
Lots of great learning awaits… Bring on term 4!
