Well, what a busy and exciting term we have had!Thank you for all your support for Sports Relief and the Colour Run, we raised an AMAZING £204.29 and £3527.00 respectively.
This money will be greatly appreciated by its recipients. The children also had great fun raising it, as seen in these pictures. Taking part in the activities and dressing up.
The children have enjoyed learning about the Romans and even applied to join the Roman Army, writing a formal letter to do so. We have also written our own stories based on the book Escape from Pompeii and learnt about Mount Vesuvius.
In PE we have continued to be immersed in our topic and moved and danced like the Romans over the term, including being soldiers, slaves and gladiators.
In Art we researched the wonderful mosaics of ancient Romans and replicated these by designing and producing our own mosaics, as seen below on our Roman display. We also designed Roman shields using the symbols for Roman Gods and making them symmetrical.
Despite the snow most of us made it in to school for World Book day and with some great costumes too.
To finish off the term we had a visit from the school chicks to say goodbye before they went back to the farm.
